Starting Pups

Just wondering what age dos everyone start der pups at i have a saluki cross hes eight months old loads of game, and never seen a ting just wondering at what age wpuld ya start the dogs pups at cause everyone different thanks

I start training them as Earlie as possible, sometimes as young as 4 weeks old but I don't enter them until they are physically and mentally capable, this can vary from breed to breed and pup to pup with no one sapling being the same.

I've had a pup I started at 7 months but I've also had one I started at 13 month. I find all the lads I know all do something a little different to start a pup and we all use our own judgement when to start pup off. Atb

Don't be sucked in by him stud dog and his opinions. Same man was trying to put me and my pup down who was 6 months old for chasing 2 geese into a lake, talking £20000 fines and 6 months in jail and when I put it back to him about putting me and my pup down he tried to say it was banter. Look to me like snappers 1st and 2nd post was a bit of banter and got called a helmet, so give him a bit of shit back.

 

And after quoting the law to me puts pics up of his dog with 2 hares ffs

I thought you was on about me fella my mistake miss read the post think we have messed this lads thread up enough now leaving it there off out for a walk with mate permission phoned earlier asked me to have a quick walk tonight clear some more off his lad then I'll leave it alone till September time

No mate not you. Just got in myself, went out for a decent walk with my lad and pup. Had him doing a bit of jumping along the way. He has been a pleasure up to now and we have a very good bond.

f****d up his thread alright,should have phoned each other,how did ye start talking about shooting hares,bring dog out on lead get him stock broken jumping retrieving rabbit skin recall time enough 13 or 14 months or net rabbit give him run in big field before it gets too dry the ground,try lamping rabbit skin keep him ticking over,be ready for winter best of luck with him,a lot of lurchermen in Wexford,thing with starting too early is dog not mature enough body or mind can't catch and barks,barking dog no good for lamping,good luck.
