Gin 500
Sorry you can't see it very well. Its 52100 bearing steel, with black palm handle. Photo of Bear ( Ralph ) with it in Ohio, USA. He rather liked it.
Gin 500
When making a sheath, i leave a hole, to allow any rain or wet to escape, when being used. Just a little tip. The drill bit, is only to show you where i mean.
spsurfer 891
Hello, this weenend I started on a new "Jäger" blade for a german hunter. He asked for some more belly on the blade and a not too upswept point (actually it's a 5mm under the spine). Now I have several blades ready to get marked and hardened. I put some protective patina on my personal EDC, as well... Regards Nicolas
Gin 500
Hi Nicolas These are very nice type blades, especially the one with more belly to it,- the white one i did, you will see has more belly about 1/3rd from the point. A handy general type blade. They will make great knives. Dave

GruffaloGriff 1,859
That shape reminds me of my first decent hunting knife. Bit of a story to this one. My best friend was fishing in a canoe with his dad 35 years ago in Maine USA as a youngster, they had forgot their knife and need one to clean the fish they had caught. Jessie looked over the side and said "there is a knife dad" it was laid on the river bed in about 4 feet of water. He later swapped it for my in-superior one as mine had a sheaf and his didn't, my dad made me the sheaf and i proudly wore it on my belt wherever i went. Changed days, no one batted an eye then at a 8 year old with a knife on his belt, even in Maine likley get arrested now.

Actually, these type of knives are what got me making knives Regards Nicolas www.fetting- messer.com
