devon flighter 421
question for you experts please ! ive got a broody on 8 chicks and "3 UN CHIPPED EGGS " the start of the clutch started chipping yesterday afternoon/evening (day 21) how long should i leave the broody on the un chipped eggs ? im a bit concerned that she will sit them instead of getting the hatched chicks eating and drinking ! as an after thought the incy is running and i could put the unhatched in a tray in the incy for a short while (im incubating dry though) any comments Edited April 20, 2015 by devon flighter
Chicken_man 1,651
The chicks have a good 24hrs after hatching on yolk sack. Make the decision then. Any unhatched eggs i give extra time. Will just have to wait and see. Others may have different ideas. Did you candle the eggs?
