I did jimmy lol but I sort of agree that there's enough coursing bred stuff to not need to use pures as well it's a risk going too the pure blood payed off big for some not for others

 

Like a lot of times it's who gets the pups then time of year they born hares they went too etc all have say in how good they end up bit of luck helps as well

you should of told me that before I used Nero ah well to late now lol

I wouldn't say that mate,I don't do a coursing dog justice and that's the truth in fact I don't think I could do any type justice these days,I've done my years of "hardcore" hunting,now I just like pottering about doing bits and bobs and getting the dogs a run here and there and get them out of their comfort zone..I've not had a fit dog for a couple of years now,healthy yes but definitely not fit..I have no need or reason to these days.I'm happy with Boots,he has done everything I've asked of him,I'd be happy to run him anywhere on anything and I know he'd try his best and I could ask no more of him,I'm even taking him overseas to work him to test him more than I could here..I put my name on a Romeo pup and if the mating comes off I wouldn't go back on my word..just like my Boots dog a pup off Romeo would get the same type of running ?

Seen some decent dogs bred off pures but never seen a top top class un never seen a saluki anywhere near as good on the field as a purpose bred coursing dog I think alot if people just use um coz they love salukis and have a strange way of thinking that it needs to be done to get top class dogs like best to best hasn't ever worked lol foxy nipper blondie lucky fettle snowy mona bulldozer Reddy and belle romeo Maggie how many of them are bred off a pure saluki and what dog that has ever been bred off a pure saluki can be compared to any of themn

Dont suppose it could have anything to do with the prices you lads who have conveyor belts charge for top coursing lines. Some nice money to be made.Notice most off the top dogs you quoted were way back in lines foxy fettle , charlie, etc apart from a handful now what is about without saluki blood. The lads that have had salukis for any length of time know how to work them,How many of the coursing lines never make the grade its ok spouting names of the top ones what about the ones that end up in the pounds or tied to a lampost. The same thing happens with saluki litters , Thats what happens when people breed from mediocre stock and money becomes the sole concern as opposed to quality stock.

Oh I hated em Paul,no one condemned them more than I of that I can assure you .. I'd not of got Boots & Fife were it up to me as it was my ex who chose one as her dog a bull terrier had died so I advised her to get a lurcher,she wanted one of these coursing type pups that were advertised,Fife it was,as things transpired she got two lol..I must admit I had my doubts but I'm happy to eat humble pie Paul haha..mine ain't no world beater,I don't need a dog to be competitive and one of the best these days in fact I probably never did lol,it was just all about the ego and bragging rights back then haha..anyways we will just keep on keeping on doing our thing,enjoying days out with our like minded lads/lasses and more than not just on my lonesome with the pooch at heel ?

I wouldn't own a dog without saluki in I'm glad people are braver than me and do go ahead and use pures buy me myself personally wouldn't breed off 1 and rear it for 2 years to then say oh ehvup this dog is not much better than the pure it was bred off lol

Fred ball won the competion Whittney was in with a bitch out of a pure saluki that was a top class bitch that j valler later bought and had 16k stuck in the bitch think he also beat Sid smiths pick with it I think, also the bitch c in the hole bought for 8 and half grand out of Ozzy got beat by a dog out of a pure saluki that Gary c bred out of his saluki out of 3 legs to frankies dog out of khan x Annie, so swivel on that

What you talking about you lads would have bred 2 litters from a dog or bitch by 2 years old. I f a pup is bred from good stock and turns out only a Little Better than its Sire and Dam I as most good stock men would say is a result. Still if people were not brave then wheels would still be square I suppose.
