The Best Coursing Blood In The Country

Recommended Posts

Vic says there will be a spare pup out of Reddy if she has 54 lol she is one of the all time greats , I bred and own Romeo and he's producing some very good young animals there is at least 5 from the Bell litter, i bred her aswel , that have ran well all there first season i have a bitch from the litter which i really fancy to be a real one , Dave Reed says the same about her sister what he has , cheif looks well , kipper bought one in of old Mac green as grass and its running well now

You need a bit of luck lads when your breeding pups , what you got to ask yourself is the bitch worth breeding of , don't breed of a average bitch hoping the stud will fix it ,there a lot of well bred dogs about so good luck whatever you use lads

i could name a good few more but the lads might not appreciate it

I've been thinking about it for abit now an I've made my own mind up on this only my opinion not wanting a argument but if I was going for a coursing dog the two that are at the top of the game an keep getting talked about are lucas an bulldozer so if I was going for a pup in my opinion the place to get a pup is the parents of the two dog now I don't know if there still around but if you get a good un don't breed from that breed from what produced that good un don't want a slagging match my opinion ATB

the rex dog i have produces good dogs so does my mates black and tan out of chuck to saluki ;lurcher top drawer dogs catching all sorts there not at public stud tho just people who keep a good dog there selve , there plenty good dogs out there just some dont let them for stud otheres do ,i like bull dozer reminds me of a staghound saluki cross ,thats were i would go ,if i wanted new blood in ,breed him with a pacy bitch for the smaller feilds round some areas , romoes nice to ,anything with pace and a good mouth for smallerfeilds than fen ,had the good fen type lurcher just need to be diluted down for a bit more pace some of them ,for al round work ,

Look for what suits the bitch best IMHO not what likely too sell best it's a rare bitch that's the comets article be honest with yourself if her mouth could be better go for a stud wi good mouth if it's pace she lack or could do with more go to fast type if she light frame dog with great stamp too um

Bully a fine animal just one look tells a story Romeo dog another great example Razor another Jamie dog too all very well bred proven killers whose lines have produced again and again over years someone told me a long time ago the apple never falls far from the tree think the man was 100% right with some lines they just keep producing consistent and the odd real in here n there forest lads consistency the holy grail

Best of luck mate

Surely purity is the way if you continually dilute cordial with water then surely sooner or later you end up with water. Genetics is a new science only just in the process of discovery at the minute luck forms 80% of success genetics forms 20%.Would some one take a thorough bred race horse and cross it to a heavy horse for speed ? they may to increase weight carrying ability or stamina hence Arab stallions being used in the 18th century. When lines such as the stalwarts of the old coursing lines Seagull , Merli, EVE etc are in the lines how much influence do these actually have decades down the road unless tightly line bred?

Pure blood ??? do they need it or not ??? most coursing lines are related now as people are using the same blood because it works , and most won't risk putting pure blood into there dogs incase they get plodders , but as you said fresh blood is needed now and then ,

How many hares were retreived in the saluki coursing club comp ??/ is there any real good salukis worth breeding of now????? , ones that are durable enough to run any land big and small , as thats what type of dog people need now more than ever , i think the modern day saluki isn't what it was , you need a dog/bitch that can run strong hares to breed of, and i don't think there are any pure salukis that do it now , i maybe wrong but i would have to see it to belive it

I owned one 20 years ago and she looked good on average hares but looked like most salukis on a good one just didn't have the minerals , i think if there was a genuine imported dog or bitch from genuine working lines that could actually run and not just look preety would be worth its weight in gold

Salukies are like marmite you like them or you dont, There are a few dogs that work on a regular basis and far from being the suggested plodders they will work all quarry which means they are true working dogs in all senses of the word not just old puss bashers.Over a season they account for decent amounts of stuff, maybe not the big numbers alledgedly retreived on a regular basis by the coursing to coursing bred dogs but lads have some good times retreiving all sorts of stuff that what makes a working dog .
