I'm just waiting to get my tag off before I start ripping lead off church roofs and stealing copper cable from sub stations. You gotta watch though, coz them live cables can give you a hell of a shock

Yeah 400-450..   scraps dead at moment gone are the days of 190 a tonne of light ..start at 9 finish at 2 nice 170 in the pocket not no more getting harder and harder the africans that buy microav

I'm just waiting to do a big pigeon/cleaning job in an old Mill..today the agent called to say the asbestos survey had come back clear, agent was worried about a massive boiler that I hadn't given a second glance, the survey said it's ok there is nothing dangerous it's just solid copper!!!! Must be 15 foot high! My joke about me getting it out for him got him excited because he didn't know what to do with it...he's just been told to empty the place!! Think I'll be early on Monday and have a better look before the lads arrive!!!

Slightly oftopic but but another good commodity is to apparantly collect pallets as they fetch a few quid per pallet I think it's euro ones tho, not sure my friend mentioned this to me earlier today he had a tipper load full and apparantly makes a bit of money doing it, anybody heard of it before or do it?

Few places around me that buy pallets. Will take a look-see and report back! LOL

Years ago, I knew a lad that had a little cabstar that went round all the industrial estates collecting pallets, the ones that had no value to the buyers a few old boys used to break up and use for fencing, lick of paint, jobs a goodun.

Funny enough a mate has asked me for a few to knock up a bit of a pontoon for his lake, must have 10 in the yard at the moment, half of them loaded with roof tiles though. Plenty more where they came from though ;)

Does the scrap price roughly track the iron ore price? I guess it would, both being the raw product for the steel industry right?

The ore price is rock bottom and looks to drop further. Just curious... :hmm:

Think so yeah. That's why iron scrap is very low per ton
