paulsmithy83 567
J price ran a bitch called heidi she was bred out of coursing bred bitch and her sire was a bull grey to bull grey dont know percentages just gen to gen bred. Heidi was true class 40+ bunnies mop up hares. Deer in the day. Take fox. real natural runner. Was 26tts had everything. I think she died hitting a grass roler that was hidden in reeds. Had staying power of the saluki with pure grit of the bull. 1 Quote Link to post

Fieldsporthunter 1,864
I think you have a better chance of getting a good collie/bull/grey than a good saluki/bull/grey. I think the collie/bull/grey make more versatile lurchers but the saluki/bull/grey make better running dogs. Quote Link to post

D Lloyd 2,790
Had a lovely cbg.fast but fukin useless.nasty too took chunks out my kids.would Muller cats but just bark at foxes.the guy who bred him was a blagger.I like this breeding but sames as anything good and bad in any cross.psy u money spend s year entering them and feeding the best. You could still end up with s lemon in any cross. theres plenty out there will take you money and give a story.its a real shame. Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
I think if I was running more rabbits ,I'd go with a collie in the mix ,especially if ferreting etc as well.if pre-ban I was doing more hare and maybe deer I'd sway towards some saluki, their type of stamina being slightly different. With that being said,I'd look for the one where the parents was doing what I want, and had a few seasons under their belts. Then the breeds would be secondary. 5 Quote Link to post
timebombs 49
I owed a collie lurcher x bull lurcher about 16 years ago good fast wee bitch about 23 tts as game as they come she took plenty of daytime hares I put my mates Saluki lurcher mostly saluki on her I kept a dog pup he was a powerhouse of a dog good speed very good stay and would jump a house unfortunately he got killed jumped a fence onto a road after a hare and got hit by a motor my mate owned his liter sister also a very good bitch its a good cross game as fxxk I think it does need saluki blood. there not for the faint hearted lol 1 Quote Link to post

malc1 544
From wat I've seen I'd go saluki bull grey 1 Quote Link to post
bunnys 1,228
Seen most mixes of the above at work ,and lots depend how the genes fall. Etc one thing for sure a tad of sal blood can be hugely beneficial in any xs. There be some who would like has little grey has possible in the make up and go good coursing blood. I suppose depends how has like them but mixing the lot can be lottery how they come.atb bunnys 2 Quote Link to post
