Imo the Bulldog is one of mans greatest creations, but the UK turned their back on it, let labour f**k it up again with their bans (lazy politics), KC ruined the staff and the idiots bred shit for cas

they came in to fashion and numptys who seen them has a status symbol a cock extension then substandard breeding and bad handling all contributed to there bad name like you and bird said easy to tra

Couple of things - Jm and DF - I really like, respect and have a lot of time for bull blooded dogs, both using a bit of bull in a mixed breed lurcher, and as a 'proper' bull x. Yes I probably did gene

The stamina issues with a bull x greyhound will come down to the muscle make up of both breeds ie fast muscle twitch, but when out crossed to collie and salukie types you retain stamina because these animals have a slow muscle twitch

thanks  , I thought maybe along them lines, that maybe pits and greyhounds are naturally very well muscled dogs and maybe the was draining them as muscle is heavy anyway . but what you say prob makes more sense

I think someone quoted the whole "Dangerously out of control" act on here a while ago anyway, and it only applies in relation to humans.

Accidents are accidents.

No harm in the man seeing the silver lining in what was obviously a very traumatic time for the bull x owner.

The law recently changed. It can now be applied if an animals is injured...

It applies to a dog being deemed out of control. Period. Dangerously out of control can simply be a dog off the lead.

I don't think Bull Crosses lack stamina, infact I'd say it's the opposite. Maybe they put more effort into their runs than say a Collie Cross???

I think that's one of the reasons they run out of wind faster than collie crosses.

For example on the lamp when on a rabbit my bitch runs full speed every run and on her way down to the rabbit.

She's good on a long run on long ears but for multiple runs my collie cross of the same age will lamp all night and you'd barely see her open her mouth when she comes back to you.

Pit bulls have stamina but I think for running fitness and wind for many runs not just one long run the collie is the best cross due to the nature of work the sheepdogs have been bred for for so such a long time

I'd say that was a massive generalisation. I think the 'effort' put into a run is probably as much down to the individual dog.

I think the issue r.e bull x's and stamina, is in the breeding. How many greyhounds that are used, have very good stamina? And how many of the bulls used actually have any kind of decent stamina, most of them are 'pet bulls'. . . . . hardly done a days work in their life. . . . . they also have a different kind of stamina to other breeds.

And you just made a generalisation. They are not or were not all bred from pet bulls and easy to.come by second rate greys, the guy int pub said get a good bullx fed right, conditioned right and there ain't no job they cant do, probably the most versatile lurcher x out there

Rubbish. That's a generalisation too, like the one you just made about bull x's being the most versatile x out there!

Sorry, that the guy int pub made lol

Iv just pointed out this forum is full of generalization mate, its same in books, every type is this or that. Lots of lads saluki is only capable.of fenland running, other believe bullx cant run. From first hand experience we all.know that to be guff. In my and guy int pubs opinion tho, a well bred fit bullx can do more of the.jobs that people expect from lurchers than any other crosses. Just a pity we can only legally run rabbits these days, so Imo a well bred fit bullx is too much dog for my needs

Lol . Said pretty much the same to my lad the other day, re bull x lol
