buster gonads 862
I,d like a DH x Whippet, i,v never seen one but i used to work 3/4 GH 1/4 DH back in the 70s/80s and loved them, but dont need owt that big these days so a DH x Whippet would hopefully do me fine. If you can capture that deerhound temperament and love for hunting in a small package then you are onto a winner. They just take an age to mature. I dont remember my DH cross,s back then taking any longer to mature than anything else i,v run since, might be wareing rose tinted glasses though . Quote Link to post
jeemes 4,480
just been thinking about what lurcher i would ran if i wasnt running a colliex and it would have to be a dhxgh,my misses said it would have to be a kelpie x, so what x would you ran if you was not running what you got? I wouldnt involve the wife in dog decisions. 1 Quote Link to post

I had read a few articles about them being slow to mature before I got my deerhound lurcher. I'm sure it's not all of them but it does seem to crop up a lot with the deerhound crosses. Mine has been a nightmare. She took a good 16-18 months for things to start clicking. But I persevered and she is a different dog now. Quote Link to post
