I Don't Understand Anyone Not Liking Sparrow-Hawks . . Remember When Putting Pheasants /Partridge Down Its You Creating The Unbalance Of The Food Chain No Ifs Or Buts . . No One Likes The Mink For Its

Awwww........poor Sparrow.

Theres a vote this week to choose the national bird of britain the Barn Owl is one of those in the running,I used to keep them when i was a kid, ignominious end for that one which is a pity as they are

I'm sure the majority would like to see a sparrow hawk fizzing about rather than a couple of hundred pheasant. I know to the game farmers/keepers it's down to pounds shilling and pence. It's a a balance but I know what I would rather see. It's not as if spars are in plague proportions. I live well out in the sticks in prime spar habitat and can go weeks without seeing one..........I see plenty of pheasant wandering around getting splatted on the road...........feckin cars eh ?

You Clearly Don't Understand The Meaning Off The Word Hypocrite . . If A Mink Got Into Your Game Birds & Decimated Them & You Say Shot That Mink & Where Prosecuted You'd Be On Here Moaning Like Fukc How Its A Non Native Species ect ect Just Like The Pheasant Is . . So When You Say I Keep Coming Back With The Same Reply On This Subject Its Because Thats The Common Sense Here !!

who gives a f**k if it's been introduced or not!!! The facts are if it's become a nuisance then it needs to be controlled.

Whether you like pheasant shooting or not it brings a huge amount of money into the country and if a few problem hook beaks have to die then so be it.

What type of hunting do you actually do?

its like deer around here, there's loads of them but ask any normal local and there surprised as they have never seen them, a good sunny day and you will be surprised if you look up how many spars are riding the thermals just like the buzzards, now kestrels are another matter they are seriously in decline

everywhere i go i see stupid phezzies . ffs. they invite death in every way possible. they are feckin suicide machines. comparable only to chickens.

i feel sorry for them they are ill prepared for the wild. and on a plate for everything that can eat em. including two legged vermin.on the other hand the spar is an arial acrobat that is perfectly suited to its natural enviroment. i know what to me has the right to live. and what i like to see. as for buzzards they get fat round here feeding on the phezzy pancakes littered around the country lanes around here  they dont need to kill feck all

Mate how many of your pheasants actually get taken by spars then ? Some bops I can see can be a problem but feck me spars are probably the least of your worries. I know it's your coin but 'hook beaks ' sounds like you're living in the past.............move on and embrace my friend lol

I'll agree......the buzzard is far worse mate. The spar is not a big threat and it does only take poults up to maybe 10-12 weeks (roughly) but why can they not be controlled?

They are only a bird.....there life should stand no higher than the pigeon or the common crow. Yet have that hook on the beak and people love them.

I'm not living in the past, in the past there was a 'kill on sight' attitude and I think that's mainly in small numbers now but to control 'problem' birds should not be an issue.

I've nothing to do with pheasants now but my views will never change.......all birds will get my respect, a BOP will get no greater form.
