wirral countryman 2,110
I was doing a bit of pest control today on a fishery in Deeside,North Wales when a swallow spent ten minutes catching flies off the edge of the trees around the lake, so in my book that makes it spring, even the hedgerows are pushing the greenery through the buds, soon be warm,LOL,s, WM

Mr Wilkes 3,006
That is a early bird , last year was the 6th of April when i saw my 1st. Chiffchaffs are starting to arrive and today i ringed a Tawny owl who we know has a clutch of 4 eggs, my nest box has Robins building a nest so yes spring is here for me.

trenchfoot 4,243
Chances of me seeing a swallow on Mothers day are virtually nil. Usually have to wait till Father's Day in these parts!

fireman 10,917
Was parked up years ago in Deeside between the woodmill and the firing range out on the little marsh road to Birkenhead and the wildlife out there was amazing, lots of hares on the old steel works site but the dogs feet paid the price if you ran them. That is a early bird for sure but a grand sight and a pal of mine down in Brighton has seen a few also this year..
