Spaniels And Lurchers

I got a spaniel x beagle works fine with the lurchers but Iv started to notice the lurchers dont really hunt when he's around they take a backwards step when he's not about they hunt great !!

From time to time doesn't seem to affect this one when beating not my dog but a friends she is marvellous bitch ferreting bushing will pick up on driven shoot and work the beating line I've got to add the man behind the dog is a very knowledgeable trainer

That's just the lurchers taking on catch dog role in pack system as long as they hunt when scent dog aint around I'd say it was a good team bond building there mate

My lurchers take a back step when out with a good busher.. They don't need to bush or hunt up when there's a dog in cover knocking bunnies out to them.. I don't see it as a band thing I see it as your dog using its brains and been part of a team
