MoChara 1,632
This is a tale related to me by my aunt about 15 years ago. In 1954 my mother and her sister went to see a medium. The medium told her she was pregnant and that she was having a boy, my mother had only found out she was pregnant a couple of days before hand. The medium then clutched her right hand and grimaced, she then went on to say he would have two fingers missing from his right hand. As you can imagine that really upset my mother. When I was born I had a normal right hand and the visit to the medium was forgotten about. In 1970 I had my accident with a train and lost 2 fingers off my right hand, how do you explain that? TC this is why I believe there's something - just some 'coincidences' you can't explain away
walshie 2,804
How can Derren Brown tell you what number or town you're thinking of? He would be a great medium, but he also debunks all that.

TC TC, how many people do you think that medium has seen and given some sort of random 'fact'? 100?......1000?.......10'000? Now, how many do you think it would take until one came true? People never remember the unimpressive results of chance, only the amazing ones. When viewed as a complete set it suddenly seems a lot less amazing.

Truther 1,579
Charlatans preying on vulnerable people, only reason its allowed is because religion is no better and would have to be outlawed. Funny how when doris stokes died her son suddenly "got the gift"

Thinking about it now the chances of it happening seem pretty remote to me, the odds must be astronomical. But I think she was a clairvoyant not a medium, there is a difference. A medium supposedly deals in communication between the living and the dead, while a clairvoyant typically deals with knowledge/visions of the living. TC
Blackbriar 8,569
Wife's ma went to see that Acorah prat a few years back. She said that everyone who wanted to 'speak' with their loved ones was asked to fill out a card, which was given out at the door. The card asked your name, the deceased name and brief details of any messages you'd like to receive or ask. Doris Stokes had an assistant, whose job was to scour the obituaries in local newspapers of towns she was due to visit. She particularly sought out people who had died an unpleasant or unexpected death. Loved ones would then be sent a request to attend, saying that Doris had a message to pass on. The rest of the audience, unaware of her foreknowledge, were amazed that she knew that Bob had died in a car crash aged 42 etc, etc. Easy when you know how ! Truther 1,579
A programme exposed doris and her son. A couple who lost a child phoned her, they spent nearly two hours on the phone with her (from memory) then they asked the parents to a show and she regurgitated everything they told her, should have been f***ing whipped on stage can't get much lower than taking advantage of grieving parents, scum
