Tiercel 6,986 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) I used to use Agouti's long net twine to make the outers for square meshed trammels. The brown would be fine one batch then the next batch it would snap often, never had that problem with the green. One thing that may influence different batches is the temperature, polyester has to be dyed at 160 C only when the twine reaches that temperature do the fibres in the twine open up to allow the dye to take. I think, although I am not sure, that sometimes they over cook the temperature when dying which results in the twine becoming brittle? The problem is that Agouti has no control over this, he just buys the twine in good faith. That said, if contacted will always replace defective twine.
