It's fine for pack of wolves to run down and rip apart a deer eating it half alive ,as that's nature, but one or two lurchers bringing one down for owner to eat is cruel and barbaric, lol

What is it about these 'conservationists' obsessions with apex predators and 'extinct' mammals. Why not put effort into what animals we have left. The red kite introduction is the worst thing that co

This may very quickly become the new badger. And the sheep industry in these areas will be negatively affected.

I said on the groups Facebook page that I would support re-introduction, as long as the animals are given the same legal status as foxes. That way a landowner could choose whether or not to have them on the place. Didn't go down very well....

wonder why they have not put any near the forest of dean with the ever so growing wild boar population?

Apparently Lynx will only take very young boar, and even then very rarely.

The group pushing for this are making a big thing of the possible deer population control benefits this may bring. I don't understand how a big cat is more humane for killing deer than a lurcher? Think if the government want to control deer numbers they should allow hunting with lurcher said on public land. Free healthy and nutritious meat for those without an FAC, no change of stray lurchers killing people and deer controlled free of charge.
