unlacedgecko 1,466
This may very quickly become the new badger. And the sheep industry in these areas will be negatively affected. I said on the groups Facebook page that I would support re-introduction, as long as the animals are given the same legal status as foxes. That way a landowner could choose whether or not to have them on the place. Didn't go down very well....
J Darcy 5,871
This is a mental scheme. They should concentrate on the animals we have left in the UK that are quickly trickling down the plughole!

unlacedgecko 1,466
wonder why they have not put any near the forest of dean with the ever so growing wild boar population? Apparently Lynx will only take very young boar, and even then very rarely. The group pushing for this are making a big thing of the possible deer population control benefits this may bring. I don't understand how a big cat is more humane for killing deer than a lurcher? Think if the government want to control deer numbers they should allow hunting with lurcher said on public land. Free healthy and nutritious meat for those without an FAC, no change of stray lurchers killing people and deer controlled free of charge.
