It all depends on what type of terrier is being used. Will a "bolting dog" work an otter better than a "digging dog" ?

It was not just about the type of terrier but the amount of space they had when to ground I was told by an old fella that had entered terriers to otters enough time to know what he was talking about

My mistake, I apologise for that particular error............. Although I didn't say FULL LEGAL PROTECTION, WHICH YOU QUOTED ME AS SAYING, SO TO BE PICKY...........I ACTUALLY SAID "fully protected". That's it, finished, end of, finito. As said life really is too short....lol.

I don't doubt that old fella you know "MIK". My comment was purely sarcasm based. Nothing to do with otters though! Common sense prevails.

I seen a few a few years ago while drawing a island full of cover the hounds hunted them hard before they slipped into the tide lovely sight they can fair move across rocks.Got a call out about 4 years ago to a farmer losing poultry we found an earth with cubs in went to watch it the next morning it was a female otter with 2 cubs she was taking chickens to feed them the farmer put an electric fence up sorted the problem out
