Mosby 355
Otter do more damage than anything I've had my dogs on. They aren't to be trifled with. But they do bolt faster than anything else I hunt. If bolting them were a goal of mine, I'd be a very successful otter hunter. Even my tiniest of bitches bolt them. 1 Quote Link to post

Shamo 319
I'm still waiting for a 'dob of the Cap' from Darcy, I guess it'll be in his next Book. Can someone let me know if it is, I doubt I'll read it to see. Quote Link to post
Shamo 319
If your dog gets smashed, it otter have known better........and you 'Otter' get a slap for that one....lol. 1 Quote Link to post

And yes, there were kids that were on badger digs at 6 years old and have seen a badger dug legally. I didn't reply because life's too short. 1 Quote Link to post
Shamo 319
You'd create a fight in a Monastery.....lol. Never said FULL in my posts and I said "legally DUG a Badger".....not many 6 or 7 years olds allowed to dig when I was around. I was one of those Kids, when there were no legal restrictions, weren't allowed near a Spade even then or after '73.......you know or ought to have known, full well what I meant Darcy. Read posts FULLY and thoroughly and don't misquote. There are plenty out there with many, many years of experience, not second Hand. You are right though, life is too short, but if you do correct people, correct them correctly, so it's correct. I'm just a principled person and (so I've been told many times)a Gentleman, but end of for me......it takes all sorts I guess. I guess I 'Otter' not of said anything, that'll teach me.......again! 1 Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
. Badgers became fully protected in 1973, Here we are..... Quote Link to post
Shamo 319
My mistake, I apologise for that particular error............. Although I didn't say FULL LEGAL PROTECTION, WHICH YOU QUOTED ME AS SAYING, SO TO BE PICKY...........I ACTUALLY SAID "fully protected". That's it, finished, end of, finito. As said life really is too short....lol. Quote Link to post

donnyc 1,203
I found with the Eastern counties many many years ago it depended on the circumstances..If just walking the bank and a terrier found they would bolt ASAP..Different story if pushed by hounds to ground ..They can be a real handful for a terrier no matter what there workstyle 3 Quote Link to post
