Guest Ditch_Shitter
What ever it is, mate ~ stoat, weasle or rat? ~ a standard Tunnel Trap may well account for it. Identifying the what ever it is would be a great boon. Why is it suspected of being a mustalid? Has anyone reported anything to lead to that conclusion? Please expand a little Quote Link to post

Guest john2007oliver
I always thought ferrets where twice the weight off one and 4 times the weight of the other, not sure which way it goes though? I could be wrong though. Id just stick it in and bolt it Quote Link to post
Scuzy 1
Slam your ferret in the hole and bolt it , a hob ferret would kill a weasel or stoat easily :black eye:, not sure about a jill tho . Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Michael; Have a look under the Trapping section here, mate. Check out John B's box trap design. Sound advice. I tend to agree on this one. The ferret would probably kill it, but why run the risk of injury to your ferret? A weasel or a stoat would fight till it's last breath. It's only a couple of quid for a trap, and there are plenty of people on this site who would gladly instruct you on how to use it. But if it's just a macho "let's see how hard my ferret is," then by all means, use your ferret, it's your animal, not mine. Quote Link to post
Guest The Big Fish
Ive encountered several stoats and weasels while out ferreting, it has never ended up in a fight between the ferret and said animal. With stoats there tends to be a bit of spitting or hissing, then the stoat bolts, weasels just want out straight away with no words said So, enter your ferret and the 'other' mustelid will evacuate in rapid order.... ferretman 0
it's a brave stoat or weasel that will stop and face a ferret. bolt it and then nail the fecker. Quote Link to post
allgame 0
shove a hose down the hole c if that works Quote Link to post
kreet 0
pour petrole down the hole threw a hose leading to the end then burn the bam out or as said put a hose down but switch it on full tilt n put your terrier on it if you have one might give the terrier a nip but be good sport for it (if your in ireland like) Quote Link to post
