bunny tickler 876
my missus has a fcked back the spine is falling apart and compressing the nerves shes on 180 mil of morphine a day plus heavy duty pain killer and the best thing we have found is an inversion frame it turns you upside down and gravity does the rest your spine opens up trapped nerves get relief or pop back to where there supposed to be so get the missus to hang you out the bedroom window for an hour or two that will do the trick that morphine really knocked me about , first i had the patches they sent me funny spells then doctor gave me a bottle of oramorph to drink as & when needed , dangerous stuff , i packed the lot in , in the end

The Seeker 3,048
I had a trapped nerve in my neck now that was painful. Couldn't sleep without the pain waking me up. Spent 12 sessions at the chiropractor still no use. My lads kick boxing instructor said here's a number give Trev a call but it's going to hurt. Well called the bloke and he comes to my home sets up this couch and examines me "right I can see where the problem is" so I lays on this couch and he said "you do know this is going to hurt don't you?" Yes I said it can't be any worse than it is now...... How wrong was I he's elbow was inserted into my spine where the nerve was and he leant his full weight on it, i screamed like a kitten caught in a mincer, I made noises I never even knew I could make. When he'd finished I was cured, unbelievable, I'd spent hundreds on the chiropractor and after 12 sessions still not fixed. This guy fixed it in half an hour but f**k me did it hurt. Found out Trev is a deep tissue guy who all the pro kick boxers use....
Cleanspade 3,324
cheers for the replies folks. i was given anti inflammatory after reading the side effects ive decided against taking them i will look into some of the above advice and see how i go i have a heavy manual job so this is a worry for me and i'm to long in the tooth to retraining . and i need this sorted as ive made a new spade to go with my new pup . socks i man up everytime i end up man down. i have to get man up . it dont help when you look up to your loyal wife giggling and your son muttering (dead man walking) when you shuffle past like a half shut knife. so dont mock the aflicted its not big and its not clever
bird 9,969
i take tramadol when my back is playing up ,clears it in a few days there very good for pain relief , but feck me do they knock my gut about, + very sick feeling with them . I take tramadol /paracetamol= tramerset , for sciatica had bad back 40 years, had at beginning 3 slipped discs , now left with sciatica . it never leaves you just start to handle the pain as best as you can, I try to keep active as I can by lots of walking, day and lamping I am lucky asi am slim so don't carry an excess weght, which is a killer for bsd backs. but sometimes which is a lot I will lie down for couple hours to rest my back, and I find it helps me. I hope I don't have to have op for my back in future , as going under the knife always a big risk with back op, my old dad had one in the 60s, and they cut a nerve that works his heal, so he was left with what they called (drop foot) maybe things have improved in this day+age, but I try to avoid any op with it.

patterdale 673
Tramadol are a very nasty addictive drug, they do their job but side affects and withdrawal isn't very nice and i speak from personal experience with my late Dad.
MoChara 1,632
Tramadol are a very nasty addictive drug, they do their job but side affects and withdrawal isn't very nice and i speak from personal experience with my late Dad.totally agree. Seen someone go into docs saying they'd something wrong with their leg and said they're the only tabs that helped them LIES they abused them. Doctor gave them a script for them. Very very silly. I only found out about their rep for high dependency when I read the leflet out box. My doctor neglected to inform me at the beginning glad I read it on day 2 of taking them. I ALWAYS read the leflets in all meds now as you dont always be told whats what.
