bryn27 89
Minds not made up just yet but the old bucket is a chow on, these builder trugs look a better alternative. Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
Problem with the builders trugs is the handles last no time. The daughter uses them for horse feed etc; never known the handles of one to last 6 months. TC Edited March 5, 2015 by tiercel Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Was thinking along the lines of capacity for those of us on foot? me old bucket is shite to work with now I have more traps to set or retrieve. Quote Link to post
Matt 160
You need something rigid that will protect your traps. Those builders trugs 'squeeze' together when you pick them up which will potentially squeeze the contents. The buckets I use carry 18 traps in each, which when working on foot means that I can carry two buckets, which is 36 traps. Back to the truck for a sarnie and grab another two buckets and that's 72 traps. That's enough for one day in most peoples books..... Of course, I've got the quad which makes things even easier......... Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
I need a taller bucket then lol. Quote Link to post
myersbg 1,385
I have been trying to find someone who stocks the fibre tuff packbaskets like they use in America but i cant find any body over here that does, any ideas?? Brian Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Thinking along the lines of a softer fabric holdall type. Lady (loose term) I know owns this factory and can turn her hand to almost anything so it's alleged. http://www.aaflags.co.uk/ Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
If its fabric and needs designed and produced this lass can do it, would they work Matt and what design or fabric would be ok. Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Fire some ideas at me and I'll put them to her no probs, I'm thinking long canvas camo type bag that you can lay the probe on top of and walk on to the next stop, long and deep for the foot soldiers. Quote Link to post
Matt 160
I'm really not interested in back packs, bags, or trugs; but it's nice of you to think of me I'm more than happy with my recycled (free) plastic buckets Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
That's what I do when I respect someone's opinion, always have and always will. Quote Link to post
Phil Lloyd 10,738
Been trialing some canvas buckets,..they sure are comfortable to carry,..but require a wee bit of tweaking...The bucket definitely needs a sewn in sleeve for markers, plus a few more modifications to suit a mole trapper.. davedavedave 69
Plastic buckets from farmers with wire handle and usually white. Original were sheep licks or had molasses in. Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
The basic molasses or salt lick buckets arnt comfortable to carry over large areas that's why I was thinking along the long canvas bag type. Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
shorter than a gun bag but deeper. Quote Link to post
