johnrussell84 2,830
Just as the season is done thought id ask. Probs been asked a good few times already. I always had lurchers an my mate had russells I got out often with his and thought at the time I couldnt handle there drive real hard at it above ground and could hold there own below and even after a good run out after an hour back in the kennels they were wired and I planned to keep mine indoors. After a few seasons discussion with him I got a black dog in he was alot calmer in the house very protective and although he wasnt as good above he made up for it below although he was off more than he was on. Since then ive still got him older now and ive moved onto the russells got two well bred ones and had one thats retired now living with my old man and wouldnt change from them. But following the terriers for a number of years now ive always had a soft spot for the border terrier even when choosing my first. Anyone else work a strain but see that certain other strain that makes u bare a grin?? 1 Quote Link to post

Waz 4,252
Had a soft spot for bedlingtons, till I owned one. Would like a russell, for digging & wild boar. I say it every year, maybe next year. Be as much a dog for my sons as for me. 1 Quote Link to post

Thrush 181
Sealyham for me, never owned a pure one but had a Sealyham russell years ago. She was a tidy bitch to ground and above, not a world beater but she'd be welcome back in my kennel! If I thought I could get a good one that's what I'd like. Quote Link to post
