How Much To Tip?

Recommended Posts

Im going on my first paid stalk on sat morning and although the stalking is booked and paid for im just wondering what the average tip is to the stalker? i dont want to offend the stalker by giving him to little as it sounds like they have really gone out of their way to sort this out for me and my brother and are also wavering the fee for using the estate rifle and amunition. so just a rough guide please chaps?

about £40 to me was a standard tip...but a tip is NOT mandatory its a extra thanks to the stalker and should be a reflection on YOUR enjoyment on the day...di he go above and beyond? did he take time to talk to you about the woods the deer the estate? or was he a long grey faced dour bugger?

ive had as little as £10 and as much as £500

and NEVER tip in lose change and never hand a tip "over" fold it twice and tuck it into your thumb and exchange it in a hand shake..

I have been looking at some american sites mate and they go on a % of the hunt cost, they give 10-20% of the cost depending upon how the hunt went and how much effort they feel the guide put in to get them their trophy?

Lol,my old headkeeper used to check the handshake and if it was a tenner he dropped it started coughing and drew everyones attention lol.Poor gun had to dip in or borrow a twenty plus he lost the tenner under heads foot .Used to make us smile .i would say 40 quid each would be about right these days mate .

yeh but the bloody yanks tip for a cup of coffee!

like i say a tip is a showing of your appreciation for the day, i would have rather taken £10 from a man who had clearly loved it and will remember it his whole life..than £200 from the man whos stalk was just a picture in his book of "hunts"

Well we went and both my brother and myself got out first deer, really really enjoyed it and the bloody stalker told me to f**k off when I shook his hand and left £40 there lol he chucked it back and said "piss of your a working man just like me" lol

Can't recommend them enough! Saw a lot of deer and managed to get a bead on one. Forgot to take the trophy pic but my brother got one of his and just got one when we got home ;)

Had to laugh at this.

A keeper I know told us the story one lunchtime that a gun tried to tip him a fiver. He gave it back to the gun with the reply.."You keep it Sir, you obviously need it more than I do"....lol

i had a cock of a german guy out once for bucks and all he wanted was trigger time, and a picture to prove it.

so we are sitting in a double high seat, one that has had a rain cover on it at some stage so its just the steel frame around it...

were sitting their and he notices this puple stuff on his hand..so in whispered pigeon English he asked what it is

i just gave a shrug and he sniffed it then for fook know what reason gave this stuff a little lick..well trying not to laugh i looked thru my glasses into the hazel thicket..

about 10 mins later a wood pigeon landed right above us and let out a big sloppy purple elderberry shit that landed on the rail of the seat.

he didnt speak much english but i could just about make out "you b*****d":laugh::laugh:
