Donna Wildwood 288
I need some male opinions Along with everything else I make, I also make soap. i have now gotten to the stage where i can get my recipes certificated and be able to sell my soap legally (already have a shop in London wanting to sell it ) However, My recipes are all rather feminine. What scent of soap do you manly men prefer? All I have suitable at the moment are an unscented goatsmilk bar (made from tallow) and a mint and tea tree (made from coconut oil) I was thinking about trying a batch with pine tar added? Mixed with coarse sea salt it would make a really good scrubby bar for filthy mitts! Suggestions please :D

heritage 202
Anything that's similar to brut or old spice will sell well at Christmas,.... Especially if you put em' "on a rope"....
MoChara 1,632
I can't use soap as in a bar of soap or I'll break out or get bad dry skin, also happens to a few folk I know aswell. Same as new kid with showergel is what himself would use. Me I'm with rob67 with the dove shower creme and a puff As for the hands it's antibacterial hand wash end of. If it's soap for men, can't you try replicate a scent of aftershave like joop or something? I've no idea if it's even possible just thought I'd throw it in there on the off chance. Smell of some men now, more like women best of luck on your soaps Donna hope it all goes well
Donna Wildwood 288
Soap onna rope!!!! i had forgotten about them! Ace. I made my bloke some castille shaving soap and poured it to set in a tankard for Christmas, and got him a shaving brush to go with... Perhaps do them as well? I can't understand why shower gel is so popular, it makes me itch eeeeew! When I get my sheep carcasse back tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can make some soap from the mutton tallow;)

Not the genuine article any more, mate -sadly! Brussels banned coal tar some years ago, which is a shame as it was good for various nasty skin conditions, as well as smelling lovely ! When my daughter was a child we used to vapourise coal tar oil to help her asthma. What they sell these days is coal tar fragranced. You can buy the genuine coal tar soap on Flea-bay, but its imported from Lithuania or some such.
