shropshire dan 467
Had a call at 8.10pm today the landlord said he can see a fox about 300 yards out in the field. Grabbed the .22-250 and a couple of rounds quickly jumped in the truck was their within 5 mins. Gun out lamp on no fox, quick squeak and hey ho out comes Charlie dropped the lamp on him at about 220 yards and he took off he stopped after I barked at him at about 260 yards released the safety and pop charlie 0 - dan 1. The landlord was amazed and was well chuffed. Quickest foxing trip ever lol 5 Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Cheers lads. Was well chuffed, the whole place stunk of charlie. It's great being able to have full confidence in your rifle setup just to grab it and go at a moments notice and knowing it will strike where you want it providing I do my bit 1 Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Thanks lads. I have got a pic but can't upload it Think it was an old dog fox as most of his teeth were broken and chipped although he did have a nice clean coat with no signs of mange. I'll be wearing my gaiters next time though as he had alot of ticks. Quote Link to post

Really happy with the outcome seen 2 more their in the distance but they didn't like the sound of the .22-250 lol I can see that that new moddy isn't that far away then?? You must be overrun with them over your way? There are a few around my permissions, but nowhere near your numbers. "Make hay ..." as they say! Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
thanks guys. Their is a lot to be fair, and until recently I've never really targeted them on any of my permissions. So I suppose I'm now actively calling/looking for them I'm getting at least 1 an outing. Their is still a lot of perms I have yet to try and call foxes. Quote Link to post

Cheers Mike. I now zero an inch high at 150 yards and that gives me approx a 2.2" drop at 300 yards so yeah practicly point and shoot. It's an excellent calibre very fast and flat and more importantly extremely destructive and humane. Quote Link to post
