Pretend Worms For Mole Control

Recommended Posts

Alphachloralose is available in this country, just not for use on moles.

Yes, thanks. I’ve tried the Black Pearl mouse bait, but with very little success – they just wouldn’t take it.
I also understand it was used for pigeons, long, long before my time: I wonder if any of that found its way down a mole hole.

I don't think those poison mole worms are all that dangerous--they certainly don't seem to cause much harm to moles.

Feck me there are some ego's in this forum. Some want to take their head out of their ar$e and give it a shake.   No one is gods gift to trapping, no matter who you think you are, there is always so

Well I'm as happy as my moles

It was used for Pigeons as 'Seconal'. Good stuff

I'm old enough to have used concentrated Alpha to mix baits for mice; and very effective it was too

As I understand it, it's use against moles on the continent has brought mixed results. I'm sure Nicepix can enlighten us, but I think that if it was half effective as Strychnine nobody would use anything else over the water....

I thought the idea of a forum is to ask questions, give opinions, and help each other out now and again.

Not to slag people off when we get things wrong, we all have to learn somewhere,

Indeed

The man who has learned it all has a closed mind

I think that an internet forum is like any other walk of life, except you can't see the person typing so misunderstandings are much easier to have.

All I would ask is that members take long deep breaths before replying to something they don't like, and perhaps try not to rise to every bait (real or imagined) they think they can see.

Like I said earlier, we don't need WW3. This section has been ticking over nicely of late

Never used mole poison and I wouldn't know how to, but I've had a look through a few french pest control supplier's sites, and the ag ministry approved products, and it appears the alphachloralose 97.5% used to powder worms was taken off the authorised for sale list over here from, at the latest, the beginning of 2013.

Morning,

Only winding you up Old Chaps – like I would really give a monkeys.:laugh:

Actually, did want to pick up on the French Alphachloralose Wasp mentioned: sounds like it should be ideal for moles; fast metabolism, cold environment, etc. Anyone had any legal experience with it? Nicepix perhaps?

Edit: legal experience using it on moles I mean.

Think i read somewhere once, it wasnt as effective for moles, as strychnine,& the taste of it, puts them off ?

Good news that, then ? lol
