MoChara 1,632
I don't watch a lot of boxing, and don't know a whole lot about Tyson fury. But watched him fight Martin rogan and I thought he came across as a bit of a balloon tbh. But like I say just the first impression of him.
gnasher16 30,121
i think the gloves today are probably different to the ones in the old days,if you ever have the chance try wearing some 10 oz thai gloves, they feel very different because you can strike with the entire fist so it's all padded evenly rather than 90% of it around the knuckles, placement of the knuckles actually imo matter more in that and mma because of it. as for clinch,i tried to watch a junior witter fight a while ago,and that made my mind up on that lol the action just stops as soon as either fighter wants it to which ruins a lot of fights imo. I have had those gloves on and to be honest there wasnt as much difference as i expected they dont seem to taper down to the wrist as much as a boxing glove and they was more square with the thumb molded to the frame of the glove as opposed to stitched on seperately.......but dont forget the taping of the hands is completely different as well.....probably a bit more flexibility as well with the Thai gloves to be able to open the palm and block a kick........ i never found that a problem anyway i just blocked them with my face Referees want to allow fighters to work inside but its a fine line between letting them work and letting them hold....working up close or on the inside is a skill very few British fighters have been able to master yet, certainly not in the way the Mexicans or some of the Yanks have. jeemes 4,484
I want to see him in with someone good..If he performs then,I will hold my hands up and say fare play..but I really do think he is very lacking in all departments. His brain, his conformation, his power, skill and gameness, also a man who has to work so hard at being a character really isnt one and it would help if he just kept his mouth shut. I believe he will be beaten the first time he gets anywhere near class.,which would have been Haye had it happened. Thats the thing though mate there isnt really anyone talented enough around at the moment to stop sheer size winning the day......the Klitchkos have proved that over the last 10 years......i agree i think Haye had too much for Fury as i think Joshua will if he keeps improving........the whole character thing you just have to look past im sure he will be as embarrassed by it as anyone else in years to come infact i think its the little posse around him who roll around in hysterical laughter every time he farts that are more embarrassing......but judging Fury as a fighter alone i think he has done well to get into the position he is now in simply because as a fighter you can do no more than beat whats put infront of you. well yes but he could of had Alexander Ustinov or Price in front of him but he avoided them both did he not? jeemes 4,484
You hit nail on the head there,he is boring..Hes just getting through with his eye on the big money fight if he gets it.. He wont give Wlad any problems, but does he really deserve that chance? Personally I dont care if he deserves it,I just want to see him knocked out and gone..People like him shouldnt be representing Britain on a world stage. Just out of curiosity mate why shouldnt Fury be representing Britain on a world stage if he is good enough to ? Well I dont think he is good enough, and apart from that hes a gobby foul mouthed delusional moron who doesnt know how to behave in public. Apart from that I cant think of anything really. He does come across as a soppy big kid without an ounce of class i agree......but this is boxing its not big brother how popular you are makes no odds to what happens inside the ring and inside the ring he has done all thats been asked..........meaning so far he is good enough. I believe he will be beaten the first time he gets anywhere near class.,which would have been Haye had it happened. tyson has more skill gameness and power in his right thumb than what that bum haye has or ever had . as for your other concerns il mention it to him .im sure hes going to be very concerned and will take it on board ffs .as for wanting to see him in with some one good ,didnt anyone tell you the bloke he fought last week was ranked 3 in the world .why dont you haters just come clean and admit it ,you f***ing eating yourselves with jealousy and hatred because your local gypsy boy is ruling the heavy weight division and he dont give two fucks for any of you Local gypsy I thought they were nomads. It doesnt mean much to me what that bloke was ranked,he was a joke, and Tysons trainer was heard to say in the corner that hes just a journeyman..
