redquil 219
Proper lurcher that.Don't just look useful either it is.Used to go ferreting on dales 20 odd year back a couple of times a year. Loads of bunnys. Can't remember digging more than 18 inches lol.40 odd by dinner time what a place.Getting back to that dog though real old time thing it .Bet he puts more away with that than most of the macho boys standing round at shows with their big macho dogs.Bet same dog could fill the bag on a good windy night too with more than bunnys pre-ban!You just look like any old joe walking about wi dog like him. 8 Quote Link to post
halfbred 2
I know I could be attacked for this , but I think the collie cross is probably the best cross lurcher there is , first cross - 2nd and even 3rd cross , ive been using them awhile , tried different crosses along the way but found these to be the best 1 Quote Link to post
op herrick 31
before salukis became the fashion collie x was always the x lurcher men looked for. back in the 70s our only way to find lurchers was the exchange @ mart, you could get a trial back then.[ f@@k me i am old] hancock took the collie x on and was good at it. collie first x are decent lurchers. people now want a lurcher from superdog x superbitch. give me a lurcher who listens and catches the odd bit off game and im happy. bought a first x years ago, picked my pal up and off we went in the van for a chase, never got into 3rd gear and the collie x knocked f@@k out of my pals lurcher in the back of the van. a old ferreting man took it off my hands. on saying that they are hard to beat if they take to their work. 1 Quote Link to post
bcjaybc 1
Cheers guys thanks for that. I have a collie (just a pet) that likes the chase and I like the smaller size was thinking what the next pup I could get. What would people recommend out of whippet x collie or grey x collie? I'm in australia if that would change it 1 Quote Link to post
