Im only teasing bestabout 21 u know ur dog but it does happen from time to timecant expect too much from a dog when your out, out of season. fat man 4,741 Posted February 28, 2015 Report Share Posted February 28, 2015 9 foot in 1.5 hours easy if thers 2 men and the ground easyDog has to find and get settled 1st so your looking at least 20min then with a 9ft dig your goin to have to make the dig at least 5-6 ft in lenght and 3ft wide to give yourself room to work,so soft ground or not and with 2 diging its still a lot of diging. And a shit load of shovelling out. Digging deep and throwing well back lol. How accurate are the latest terrier finders?is it what it says on the box? next time you sit on the couch having a cup of tea look at the opposite wall, start at the skirting board and let your eyes move slowly up the wall to the ceiling thats at least 8ft i live in an older house mine are 9ft, i think sometimes people quote these depths off the box i just wondered how accurate. by the way well done because 9ft is a big dig. Exactly,most rooms from floor to ceiling are a standard 8ft while some older buildings are 9ft and its only when you look at it you realize its a hell of a dig even if it was soft ground.We had a few deep ones this season,a couple in or about the 9ft region and 4 of us on the job and it took more than 90min. You don't have to be good at maths to understand the scenario, just know what is being discussed. For talks sake any man should be able to dig 4ft in good ground to get to a terrier in an hour. lukey 1,621 Posted March 1, 2015 Report Share Posted March 1, 2015 I'd say most digging boys will have a couple of or at least one fit lad in there that you struggle to get out of the dig I know a lot of the time I can't get my buddy out but il always be about the sides working away leaving him to scoop out! When working in this way let me tell you even in hard ground 4ft should be a quick enough job after the terrier has had time to settle! Quote Link to post
