Waterloo Cup Memories

Recommended Posts

What a cracking thread,..one of the Hunting Life's best...

I well remember me and Dave Harcombe trying to sell Terrier Yearbooks and Lurcher Journals...

We had a flimsy plastic tent,.. with books laid out on a decorators trestle table,...

The lads were everywhere,..like fecking locusts..!

Talk about a free for all,...we was losing books, faster than we was selling them

In the end, we just gave up,.or should I say, gave in,..feck it I said,..lets just watch the coursing...

Great days,..will we everf see their like again...

I remember that Phil, you had a conversation with a scouse kid about a litter you'd bred and poaching the estate and he bought a copy (bout the only one that did!) that he still has today... ;)

Miss it terribly. Like maxhardcore says, too many memories to list. But here's a few -   Clarissa D-W stomping round in her plus twos with a big smile on her face and happy to chat with anyone   O

Well chaps, I thought I'd put a few old cards I come across in the shed and an original poster I had framed with the card inserted in the back, just wondered what memories you lads have, I went from

few pictures of mine from the field and the pub

I missed the last year,,,but went to the previous two,,,or at least the first day,,,

I think one of my everlasting memory's is being the worst ever gambler,,,,one year i had about 10 bets on the trot and lost every one,,,,how unlucky is that in a two horse race....

I have a glass cabinet with all my fond memories in there at the back is the last years card of the waterloo cup along with the badge sad it ended, but have some fond memories of attending as a lad in the start going with the older guys then hiding in the boot so we didnt have to pay, and in later days driving the old lads as they was all fecked can remember pulling up one morning at some traffic lights in my old astra diesel and us lot in tweed jackets sporting flat hats then this porshce pulls along side with this very well kept blond stunner driving as I looked across I gave a cheeky wink and she burst out laughing all the lads was in stiches and a nice wave was given as we drove away.

Was great to meet some old faces and new year on year was a real highlight it was a crime they stopped it and I still don't understand why.
