Guest MOLLY
Wow, looks like you had a great day. I have an 8 month old Paterdale, he has one Rat to his name.Have you any recommendations on the best way to bolt the Rats? Any advise would be great I would say to keep the dog away from the holes, a rat wont bolt if he thinks a dog is waiting. If you are using your dog to mark if a set is occupied then he will have to go near, but it will probably mean digging. The lads found on Sunday, if they just put the spade in and moved it back and forth the rats would sometimes bolt then Another idea, if you know where there are some occupied rat sets, start feeding them away from the set, some corn under old tin sheeting etc. Keep doing it for a couple of weeks, and when they have relaxed go back with the dog block the set entrances, then lift the tin sheet Remember to unblock when finished then start again.
