darrren 414
Hiya everyone, been a long time since i been on the forum. Started looking into catapults as i just cant get out with the gun as much these days, and i no longer have the ferrets, and fancied somthing a bit different. I Got a few forks off the walknut tree and ordered some Dankung 1745 tubing. Im going to use gypsy tabs on the catty itself, just wondering how long you guys have your tubing? I may get myself a black widow this weekend just to get used to shooting one. Going to take me a while to get comfy with it as im left handed, do alot of stuff the right handed way, shoot an airgun the left handed way, then being in the army and the SA80 having its cocking lever etc on the right side, am forced to shoot right handed. (Can shoot the rifle this way but not an airgun, as i move too much with it). I also box orthadox even as a lefty, a bit of an odd setupo i know haha. Ill see what im most comfortable with i guess. Also ive watched a few videos where it suggests pointing forks forward towards the target and shooting instinctively?
darrren 414
Apologies, the elastic is 1824 by Dankung. Is this alright doubled up for shooting [BANNED TEXT] nuts?
1Wally 204
Hold the tubes and draw as if it was on a catty to your anchor point, make adjustments to where you are holding the tube till you you're almost maxing out the tubes at your anchor, then cut to that length. One length wont work for everyone. Atb
darrren 414
Thanks for the advice, sounds simple enough. Is the 1824 alright for shooting the hex nuts? I read on simple shot that its ok for upto 12mm lead once doubled up? Ill be using it single for the time being though to get the shot down.
carlstoke 34
1842 is not strong enough for 12mm lead , use it doubled for m8s.
darrren 414
Happy days, so double the band up and its good for the m eights. How much punch is that likely to have? Enough for pigeons? Im going to get a black widow on friday just while im waiting for the bits to come through, have a few shots then just to get a feel for it . Longers7 720
I wouldn't buy a black widow to practise with imo mate, I'd get something along these lines, can be used with flats or tubes http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221692467557
