Wild-Bill 500
A coursing bred dog from the right lines could do all that if entered sympathetically.a small bit of bull wouldn't hurt ,but I'd be more interested what the parents and to some extent, grandparents done, and done well, Not beyond the realms of a lot of lurchers, But if I was to buy one on in I'd buy a pup from a couple of generations of breeding for what you want if possible Something like you've bred I would of thought. Most dogs should cope with the odd fox , hopefully anyway. A splash of bull would go along way. 1 Quote Link to post

leethedog 3,071
As been said most would cope with that sort of work if conditioned right a splash of wheaton or bull a bit of collie wouldn't hurt either perhaps collie X bull grey or wheaton grey Quote Link to post
Fieldsporthunter 1,864
Collie grey / deer grey or collie grey / beddy grey I think lurchers or theese type have potential to make chancey all rounders. Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
It always falls back to the same thing. Buy a pup from dogs doing the job you want... but how do find dogs doing the job you want!!what I did is put a thread up on here it got about 16 pages got loads of offers from lads breeding off bitches that where vitually pups or dogs that hadn't done much there was loads of arguing the n the thread got locked ....you know .....the usual thing lol. Then all you have to do is sort out who you believe, who's lying ,if the dogs are the right size and stamp for you ,then hope for the best they make it easy really. So just get out with other lads watch their dogs work and get one off them when you see the type you like In a dog so bred my bitch, and then had the hassle of getting decent homes for them instead lol 2 Quote Link to post
