Last Lamp Of The Season So Made It A Good One

Recommended Posts

Me and Rew headed out sunday night to do the last lamp of the season, weather conditions were great as there was hardly any moon and plenty of strong wind... I took LASS and rew brought with him his young bitch GEM, We started lamping around 9.30 and first place there was plenty to go out... we split up and started lamping, i was getting plenty of runs and on the first few feild and one of them was plough so had a few easy picking of tht and i soon bagged around 14 or so, i met up with rew and he was on about 8 with his bitch and she had also picked an hare with rew having no intention of running it but it popped out in front of her when she was returning from a rabbit she had just ran... we had left the rucksacks in car so we had a job carry this lot back but on a feild on way back a big rat is sat out and gem made short work of it before lass had a crunch but took a little nip lol,, after a few feilds we got back to car and dropped rabbits and lamped a few feilds opposite side to where we had just bin, we had a good few more to go out and LASS was baggin more up and i had about another ten and i could hear distant squeels so GEM was doing her job think she had another 5 then we thought it would be best to return back to car and try another spot we know... we got there and walked a few feilds having a slip here and there and lass got another 4 and took her second partridge on the lamp and gem picked up another 5 running one from next to a lot of sheep and pulling from the top of a good sized stone wall cracking little catch it was. so we ended on 45 rabbits... LASS doin 28... GEM doin 17,, was another great performance from dogs and another cracking night for us... Cheers for looking
