It doesnt matter which way you breed them

Yep, old wives tale imo, although i know alot of lads that think differently to me. if you want something racey just pick a pup thats thrown to the dam, it being a GH i presume, but if i rearly wanted something racey i wouldnt be looking at a first cross bull in the first place.

maybe,? even though your right, if a 1x what ever the 2 breeds involved , on paper it 4/8s both sides. but having seen over the years the dam being the running dog (gey, whippet, etc. ) and the sire being the none running dog, the pups seem to have thrown to the dam more .? as you say it could be a fluke because from the above 4/8s both sides . my dog dam is a gsd , and his sire greyhound , and all pups I think followed the dam , the size height I think came from the grey who is 29in , there shape a bit of both  ive seen few pics on here where it bred the other way dam gey sire gsd and dogs do look bit more racy . but its pot luck with any 1x really to what the pups will pick up from each parent, where as lurcher to lurcher you know with in reason your getting a racy type dog with running dog on both sides

with a first cross it makes no difference, half the pups genes come from each parent. any other breeding there is a bit of "lucky dip" about it, unless the line has been bred for type for several generations and is breeding true.
