Do any lads on here go digging on your own or do you always take someone to help I just ask cus I've bin goin on mi own and find it hellish hard work even thinking of packing in how do you terrier men go on ?

bin out since 6am on ma own and blanked :-( its ok alone but really better to have a mate ther just for saftey reasons buggerd if you get a cave in alone or break a leg few miles from the car + a extra set of eyes to spot a bolt even if hes not into digging

i dont mind the digging just take my time with it its the extra hand on the break threw passing dog out and putting on lead what comes in handy + the extra set of eyes in case of a bolt my pal wont get dirty anyway just stands ther telling me were ime going wrong eating my food and draining the flask goes and sits in the car when its backfill time the prick but still rather have hin ther than not to be honest

My mate had a dig on not far from the back of his house one evening when his bitch dropped into a spot in a moss bog. He went and got tools and he openly admitted after the episode that the 4ft dig he had dug to get his bitch wasn't wide enough. Anyway he broke in went head first into the narrow dig to get his bitch and couldn't get out! Thank fk for mobile phones was his words. He rang the young lad that lived on the farm down the lane and told him where he was and come quick. Said it seemed like eternity and was shit scared because he was upside down face in full view of the action and was helpless. More scared for himself mind you lol.

I honestly dont mind either way,sometimes its good to have someone to share the digging and stuff,but if my usual digging partner has other commitments im still out and about,

normally go out as a 3 man team but I creep obout local on my tod as I know the earths and I know the shallow ones

in my first season, and facing the same question myself. Since the gent I used to dig with passed away, and learning about my permo's as I go, it is a concern. One of the spots we tried marked at 15ft! There is another good lad I have been out with, but finding a time that is convenient to us both ain't easy! Good luck squire

Digging, like lamping, as pure as it gets on your own.

There's risk attached to any activity but if you know your game, keep a level head and know a good mate or two if there's a problem, then go for it..!
