shropshire mole 190
So here is my very first Putange caught mole ( Sorry Matt, better not tell you how I laid the trap in the run, the competition may be watching - :D ) Having pink string is cheating, the mole thinks its food, unfair advantage Edited February 21, 2015 by shropshire mole 3 Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Are you sure the pink string isn't a personal 'preference' ?? You can post as much as you like about setting french traps..... just lay off the Duffus, eh? Quote Link to post
shropshire mole 190
String is String Tell you what though, don`t think the putange will take over from the dear old duffus, there fiddly to set quickly, but may have a place when only surface runs are present on a customers lawn Time will tell Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
They are not as fiddly to set once you've got the hang of them. I carry three pairs ready-set in a plastic box that stops them sliding about too much. It is rare that one trips unless I'm really clumsy with the basket. Even if they are not ready set it only takes as long to set one as doing one side of a Duffus. Opening up the tunnel is the same and all I do is probe with twisted fence wire to check there isn't a junction, rake out both sides with a spoon and slide them in. One peg, either a piece of fence wire or a plastic flag secures them and then the clod goes back on. All I then need to do is mark it. 2 Quote Link to post
mazperks 18
Where did you get the Putanges from S-M, I fancy having a couple, for shallow runs, or as an alternative to the Duffus when encountering backfillers. Quote Link to post
