Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Got this book last week and it went straight to being one of the best terrier books ive read, along with 'world of the working terrier' and 'dig deep, throw well back'. However i thought it lacked a few things such as a variety of different dogs and also i like to know the breeding of dogs etc. the book seemed to be basically based on Womble and Panda whereas in 'Dig Deep..' the was loads of dogs featured with how they were bred etc. Otherwise its a quality book especially with colour pics and an improvement on the writing side, i look forward to future publications JD What does everyone else think? kaney 9
He speaks obviously from experience , he asked others to contribute to DDTWB and got criticised allthough a great read and this time speaks solely of his own experiences and travels personally allthough enjoying both prefer his recent offering and disagree plenty of great action photos of others dogs . FOXHUNTER 5,021
Yep another good read .This book is based on his own experiences working his and his mates terriers. You feel like you are out there with him when reading. Well done mate , cant wait for the next one. All you terrier lads should purchase a copy. Plenty of good colour pics of foxes and digs. butcherboy 68
As a non terrier owner (at mo ) and new to terrier work I really enjoyed the book. Great pics & a excellent read. The only issue I have is that there are a few "terms" that are not obvious to the less experienced. I know JD probably wrote it for other like minded terrier men but would have liked a wee glosssary at the back of book
alimac 882
superb read, yes womble and panda are mentioned a good bit, but where in his advertisments does it say that the book covers diff breeds of terriers... the bloke has obviously taken alot of game with the dogs and he rated them as working terriers, so fair play to him for writing about them, better that than writing about a border that has only had a score of foxs... one thing i would say was SOME of the photos have been played around with a little to much for MY liking... but all in all a good sucsess... well done jd
Simoman 110
Only collected mine last night and had a flick thorough and read the first chapter, looks like another great read.
J Darcy 5,871
Nice to hear feedback...... Constructive critisism is good... To be honest when i did the last terrierbook a few said "Oh its all his mates, he's wrote none himself" so this time its all me...... the book is totally different to all others on the market and the way its going it will soon be all gone!! What i will say is that if anyone doesnt like it they may return it (unmarked) and i will give them their money back (RRP)... so i can't say fairer than that.... but personally, even if you do not like it, i would certainly keep hold for within a year i bet they will be going for quite a few quid on eBay..... At present i am working on another terrier publication with a collection of stories from a few lads as well as some great historical piccys too.....as well as a lurcherbook and other things...etc....just no bloody time..!!! Good hunting......JD
