Zander - Release Or Remove ?

Recommended Posts

That was possibly aimed at me BB. He has a tendency to go on like he`s john wilson  I still put his 2nd place down to the fact he was fishing next to a decent match angler and just copied him :whistling: .

Christ. Am I THAT bad.....................

I'd chuck um back too. Have done it in the past.

Copied this from a Guardian article of 2011. Bit of an Eye-opener ?

"In England and Wales as long as you are in possession of a £27 rod licence and have permission from the water's owner, the Environment Agency states that on any given day an angler may remove 15 small (up to 20cm) native species including barbel, chub, common bream, common carp, crucian carp, dace, grayling, perch, pike, roach, rudd, silver bream, smelt, tench and zander (non-native) as well as one pike of up to 65cm and two grayling of 30-38cm"

Didn't hook a Zander,so didn't have to decide !

Didn't hook a pike either, so I'll have to have another try !

Nice morning out,though !

Deadbait and chips for tea then :whistling:

Can't even get have that - I use spinners and poppers ! River's well flooded, so that accounts for it, I reckon. Looking forward to having another go, mind !

The river being flooded will deffo have put a dampner on it,shame that the big girls will be there for the taking now...I always found lure fishing more productive in the warmer months though.I must admit I prefer wobbling a deadbait to spinning, cant beat seeing a large submarine appear out of the depths behind a wobbled roach :boogy: Get some savage takes ....Think Ive mentioned this on here before but once saw a 3lb tench hooked cleanly in the mouth on a 3oz deadbait fished sink and draw, another lad I know caught a 17lb carp hooked cleanly whilst winding in a largish livebait whilst fishing for catfish at night

Carp and tench ? Not the usual deadbait takers, that's for sure !!!

I'm new to the pike (I have accidentally caught a little jack), but I'm looking forward to my first proper catch. Nice day out at this time of year, if nowt else - banks are deserted !!

Might try again tomorrow.........
