Chicken_man 1,651
Alright mate, Have you tried the countryside jobs sheet ( CJS ). Google it and see. Hope you find a job soon. Atb
Patterd Ales 59
Thanks all, I am familiar with cjs, the competition in that sector is awful however. Far too many volunteers etc! I did a degree in Wildlife management. Fascinating, however I wish I had chosen more wisely regarding job prospects.
rodp 316
Time to re-train mate, and you're still young enough. Countryside jobs are great, if you like low pay and no work. Try something with a future. Are you good with your hands ? Are you mechanically good ? etc, etc.
Chicken_man 1,651
Agreed,.a lot of competition, but also other jobs, landscapers, estate workers etc on there. Good luck. Keep us updated. Atb
Patterd Ales 59
Agreed, I do need to retrain. I can fix most things, build many things. But where and how to retrain?

rodp 316
May be worth trying the likes of truck garages as semi skilled ? heavy and dirty work but the money can be good when trained. I did time served on the trucks, no papers as such, but ended up at a main dealer on very good money. Possibly not a job you would want to do over 50 though. As said, heavy, hard work and out in all weathers on breakdowns. I packed it in at 35, went self employed doing other things. Round here recovery firms advertise for drivers so that's another thing to try. Anti social hours though and call out.
