Joe1888 672
Another good european night in glasgow! Not all doom and gloom for scottish football If only we could compete in terms of £, few members were chucking stats about a few months ago about celtics great "atmosphere",this says it all. £5.136 billion of Premier League TV cash can't buy greatest atmosphere in world football Yet the atmosphere that continues to rage at Celtic Park on such evenings of utter organised bedlam remains priceless. Easily the best in Britain. Arguably the best in the world. In Europe, you could probably put up a case for Borussia Dortmund's imposing Westfalenstadion. And that would be it.If Carlsberg did football grounds, they would bottle Celtic Park and sell it on tap. One gets quite giddy even clamping your ears to a (wireless) radio on such nights. The contrast between Liverpool's meeting with Besiktas just over the border was noticable. You'll Never Walk Alone is done well by Liverpool fans, but the Celtic Park rendition is like something sent from angels hovering over Paradise. https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/desmond-kane/celtic-park-on-a-grand-old-european-night--£5-136-billion-of-premier-league-tv-cash-can-t-buy-the-greatest-atmosphere-in-world-football-140304973.html Edited February 20, 2015 by Joe1888
gnasher16 30,470
Im just curious.......as the biggest club in the history of the world do you not find the jubilation and ecstatic celebrations at drawing at home to Inter a little bit embarrassing ?

mattyg 1,862
My thoughts exactly gnasher......it's a draw......at home.........to a team currently in 10th position in their domestic league!
Joe1888 672
i was mainly talking about the atmosphere.... if you want, compare the two leagues, team value, players, wages, transfer fees... celtic spent a couple million on two players in the window, inter spent 15 million on one player
gnasher16 30,470
Here we go again crying into your pints........its not our fault huge companies want to throw 5 billion at English football and nobody gives a shit about Scottish football why are we always put on this guilt trip ?.......If you had more than 1 team, and had a few more people going to football matches.....and maybe produced the odd decent footballer folk might feel a bit of sympathy but if the game is bigger in Italy than Scotland is that their fault....football fans in Iceland or Bulgaria and places dont think they,re entitled to money they dont earn ! WILF 47,662
Why couldn't you just say it was a great night and not mention the premier league ? A great night at your club is just that, don't matter if you play amature or pro......money has f**k all to do with it. But, seeing as you brought the comparisons up, inter will see that as a bad night !

gnasher16 30,470
Because a Scot can rarely talk about Scottish football without talking about English football you should know that by now.

Lab 10,979
3-3 against Inter Milan and it's some kind of let down........got to laugh. Every one of there goals a gift tae. Yip we are not playing the Inter of old but we are not the team we once were either. So nothing to fear over there....just give it a go and see what happens. Great game and great atmosphere. Ffs a while back Wilfs local pub side was going to beat us......lol

And I'm curious why you would think that's 'embarrassing' mate? Let's not forget they are still Inter Milan, competing in a pretty large European tournament. We are not playing that well, 2 down after 15 mins, 2-2 after 25, 3-2 after HT and an equaliser in the 93 minute. The game had everything. Would you walk home that night with your head down......I think not.
