Applying For Fac, Where To Put Request For Moderator?

I'm applying for my FAC and was wondering where to put request for a moderator on the form. Do I apply for a moderated .22lr and .222, or should I write the rifle on 1 line and the moderator on a separate line?

Yes each moderator for each rifle needs to be entered

Each moderator is considered a firearm in its own right, so list it separately.

For example:

 

1 x .223 rifle

1 x .223 moderator

 

Then where it asks for reason, put Health and Safety.

I don't think I ever bothered putting a reason for the mod or got asked for one when meeting the FEOs. The attitude towards them is very relaxed.

As everyone else has said basically a sound moderator is classed as a firearm although some are not even proofed , such as the sirocco sm11.

I was actually called by Devon & Cornwall in 2013 when I put in a variation for an additional rifle and asked "Do you want a sound moderator

on this rifle"?

I already had three others all with mod's on, as it was I didn't as I wanted a light carry big bore for 'walking' stalking so wanted to keep it as

plain and light as possible.

On my applications I just say e.g. .270 Rifle with sound moderator, reason 'wanting to shoot without hearing protection' that seemed to do

the job here.
