The End...

Recommended Posts

Anyone already finished their season yet due to young bunnies etc on the ground? Personally I've got two possibly three trips remaining for my big dog Boots and that will be him done for the season although my lads bull x is in the sick bay and he said he is gonna take him with the terriers to see how he does so he may get one or two more looks out depending on how he fares I guess? Our dogs have all been busy throughout the season if not on a par with some years gone by ? ..Boots has hardly been in his kennel since the turn of the year but he's been injury free so he's been kept on the go,had him down country on Tuesday had a brilliant day in fact one of my best ever whilst hunting, returned home late at night and he was back out yesterday and laid a couple horizontal, today he's out again with one of my lads who's not at work today and had one retrieve to do after my sons mate had shot this fella..

Im looking forward to putting my feet up as much as he is I think lol..Don will be chipping away for a while yet as he goes beating and on fox drives on an Estate in Scotland but he thrives on work,he gets bored lol whereas Boots is just a big lazy bugger and loves to chill..personally I've not came across any young apart from a tiny leveret I seen in late January and my son had Boots ferreting a fortnight ago and two young slipped through a net..any of you guys seen many young uns or not?

Great stuff lads

FairPlay to you

Fuji did the Boots dog get the chance to Go Flushing on any Fenland.

If so how did he fair.

Pm if you prefere.

Max you know me I'm never in any rush lol,I've not had the dog in the condition I believe he'd need to be in to go down there this season,he only had a few months of last season as I started him away quite late as he was an October pup,he's caught a fair lot of gear this season which to me is basically his first, you could say he's full of confidence at this current time and he's took everything I've put in front of him in his stride..he's no world beater I know that,he's handy enough..he's going down South next season for a 100%,yes he will be three lol but whether or not he can reel one in down there I won't lose much sleep over it..first time I've used him as a point and slip dog was this week lol,I usually just let him hunt his own gear up..I've never seen him run clever which may be his downfall down there? He runs to kill and not chase,he has a real good mouth on him and he runs them nice enough where I have run them..I always have doubt's about his wind but to be fair I've never had him super fit as I've never needed to but lads who have seen him reckon he will be fine but we will see? If he can turn his hand to running down there then IMO he will be a canny dog..he's already achieved things working that I've never been able to do in nigh on 40 years with my others..watch this space haha ?

not for me it isnt, the ammount of bunnies she puts to sleep on her own, wont make much difference to the bunny population, so we are off out every day, until i draw my last breath

Same as you mate.
