Denny essex 15
Thats a lot of money the farmer wants for free pest control, if your putting down pens and feeders for game and paying for the sole shooting rights to that land then a fee could be acceptable, but if just for pigeon and vermin shooting as pest control I would say thanks but no thanks. My opinion is if your shooting pigeon and the likes of rabbits etc that damage and eat crops your both doing one another a favour , the farmer gets free pest control you get free shooting, well almost with cartridge cost's. 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,474
Aye you would need to be sure it's for all the shooting on the farm game and vermin,or it's going to be bloody expensive pigeon shooting 1 Quote Link to post
sussex 5,777
The trouble with pigeons is one day there there, the next day there gone , along with your grand .!...If its the sporting rights that's another matter .We had been watching the pigeons feeding on the last of the maize cover crop for three days , thousands of them , yesterday hides out , every type of gizmo to attract them to the hides ....nothing ! They had moved on ..Not a bloody one . 1 Quote Link to post
Rabid 1,936
I have never known anyone to pay for pigeon shooting around this way, as above, game shooting is worth money, vermin control is done for free usually, quite often a helping hand around the farm goes down well.
