dare 1,103
But then you can't call that dog dead game? A game dog will go until the end but if it doesn't die then it isn't dead game its a game dog? Pointless to argue over it anyway its all the past and a dead dogs no good to anyone. Well the dogmen called the dog "deadgame" but what do they know? No it's not unless it's been bred to...
dare 1,103
unless its been bred to? That sort of comes across that its ok to let a dog go dead game if its been bred because its served its purpose. A dead game dog is useless there is no unless.

Well seeing as though they don't live forever the name of the game is to pass on those traits of deep gameness, so a deadgame dog is far from useless if it's produced. gnasher16 30,591
If countries like Holland,Luxembourg,Greece etc could do it so could we.......we f****d it pure and simple.....having had some of the great purebred family dogs created over mens life times from around the world what do we have to show for it......................some good lurchers !!!......If thats not a sporting tragedy i dont know what is. id say the opposite actually because lurchers are bred, owned and worked for the love of a dog thats good at its job andable to complete the required task where as the bulldog game is all money. A lurcher does its job and theres no or very little financial gain, can that honestly be said for pures? Your committing the cardinal sin of making comparisons between hunting and sport.............the Apbt is/was a sporting dog bred for sport....theres money in sport theres not in hunting, simple.
DogFox123 1,379
Don't forget though some of the top breeders didn't even match their dogs.

Its the most ludicrous phrase ever coined .....a 17 year old kid puts his poorly conditioned dog on the carpet for a 30 minute ear sucking contest and has no idea how to doctor a dog afterwards....dog succumbs and the kid claims a very average dog as dead game !................if a dog doesnt die in holds he cant be classed a dead game dog in my opinion.....sounds extreme but its an extreme phrase.
