op herrick 31
never slipped a dog in my long ownership of lurchers. f**k me guys lurchers hunt with you and jump and scent there game. slipping a dog is not what a lurcher does.slipping a dog is what a saluki owner does. lurchers and running dogs are not the same. fireman 10,859
A slip don't nessary mean to let go of the lead,it also means you let the dog run what it finds instead of calling it off,I don't think i own as many leads as i do dogs as it goes 1 Quote Link to post

Neilcoursingmad24 5
just a question looking at all the topics that go on about matches and competitions in the lucher world. How can it be called a competition or a match for that matter if the owner of the dog slips it. Greyhound racing is done from a trap coursing is done by an independent slipper. Is their anything else where the owner can pick and chose its slips ???????? As long as there's no massive difference in slips then don't think it matters much, the better dog should prevail either way. Is that not the problem reading between the lines the top match men wont slip until they get the right slip as in under their feet ???? Quote Link to post
