welcome 447
just a question looking at all the topics that go on about matches and competitions in the lucher world. How can it be called a competition or a match for that matter if the owner of the dog slips it. Greyhound racing is done from a trap coursing is done by an independent slipper. Is their anything else where the owner can pick and chose its slips ???????? 1 Quote Link to post

As long as there's no massive difference in slips then don't think it matters much, the better dog should prevail either way. 1 Quote Link to post

Is that not the problem reading between the lines the top match men wont slip until they get the right slip as in under their feet ???? Quote Link to post

So i slipped at a big ears today 200yds away going across a hill. The bitch ran across the hill had to jump a wall with sheep wire on top turn left down along a wall left again across another wall rushes on this land aswell right and left again and out trough a gate and just getting to him going out of sight around the side of a wood .Is that not a test for a dog or is it waiting for one 10 yds away or in the seat???? 3 Quote Link to post

I was out today,5 terriers and a lurcher, terriers flushed a Roe and gave voice, lurcher was soon in attendance, the Roe ran past me 11 times, with 6 dogs up its arse,im not saying the lurcher is useless yet she was never better than 5th in line,i walked 2 miles home and returned with a sledgehammer,as the roe ran past me for the 32nd time i smashed its fecking left hip with the Thor rod, twenty seven minutes later it had an heart attack and the terrier caught it,3 minutes later the lurcher sank its lazy chops into bambi,i then took Thors vengeance on the useless lurcher and the 3 slowest terriers, feck to fair law and 200yd slips. 5 Quote Link to post

fireman 10,917
Years ago i saw this dog take off until it was a tiny dot( i thought that's the last we'll see of that ) and then it just turned and ran sideways a bit then another turn and this went on for a bit until it got close enough to see what it was chasing (a cwd),it's owner was a lazy bugger who just let the dog spot for itself and it had better fecking eyes than any of us did ..Bet that run up was 2/3 of a mile or more Quote Link to post
