morton 5,368
Think no matter where it is if it's life threatened it's going run as fast as it can and twist and turn to escape capture not think The terrain is the biggest leveller betwixt capture and escape, whatever part of the country that terrain may be,a 3 mile gallop over the Highlands can be less challenging than a 300 yd gallop around an Industrial site in Gt.Yarmouth and vice versa, one of them Bambi,s is used to the chase another may only ever see 1 dog in its lifetime, who gives a toss, they are off menu now. beast 1,884
go look at some of the southern woodland red deer, they make them on the moors look like toys. see if they northern lads beddy whippets can catch those ones.......... i agree the divide is because there are fewer people running lurchers in the south, and so there hasnt really been a culture grow up around running dogs like there is in parts of the north. cultures like this invariably beget a hierarchy Quote Link to post
