Reloading Kit

Recommended Posts

Loading for the .223 walshie? Was thinking about it the other day after I re zeroed my tikka and new leupold. Used them 53grn superformace rounds and was getting inch and a half groups at 100m, which to be honest is perfectly acceptable for what I do, but would be nice to see some cloverleaf groups.....Thinking homeloads would be the way forward.....

How much was the kit?

The kit was about £125 new. Other things I had to get were calipers, and a case length gauge. Got some 53gr v-max bullets to try now and some N133 powder. Looking forward to working up a load for the 53s.

The 53 gr superformances in my Tikka are less than 1" at 100 yards. It loves them. That's why I just got some 53gr bullets.

  • 2 weeks later...

I should be getting stuck into some reloading for my .223 next week.

I use Hodgdon's CFE 223 for my .22-250, but it is also recommended for the .223 ........... so that's what I will be using. Nosler 40gr BTs, Hornady 52gr A-MAXs and Nosler 55gr Varmagaddons.

It will take some time, but hey, that's where the fun is. ;)
