I've often thought about getting the fruit trees from Aldi etcthere only a ten spot but would it work growing them in tubs ? Are they small rootstock ? and the tubs are nearly half 45 gallon drum size

HELP ME! Sorry I'm hijacking your needs bunny tickler but I'm in dyer need

Ok so found a nursery round corner that sells every bloody fruit tree under sun. Want a couple apple trees, but where I live it's not great ground, can get very sandy - I live practically on a beach it's just over the back lol.

Wonder what's the best tree, would like the usual Granny Smith etc as the apples themselves will be used plus fed to my pigs. So confused and I need to get it done soon.

The trees they sell are at 4-5ft. And literally they've loads different ones.

Pears are also prone to a bug which gets into the buds, if you spray with bayers insecterside before the flowers show should help if the tree is good.ps I bought all my trees from aldi 4 quid each , and all but the peech tree have fruited first/second year and get more fruite every year.
