It is a good offer FD for us Plummer owners so i'm putting a coach on from Newcastle ,any Plummer owners within a fifty mile radious welcome,It's an all inclusive trip we get to rat ,dig and maybe enjoy a sandwich and coffee,if we dig we get bragging rights and a t shirt with ego printed on it.Isn't it funny how folk come out of the wood work when some one puts a offer on a thread like this giving it the large and having a pop.Not every ones a glory hunter. speaking for myself it would in normal circumstances be good to go out and have a good day digging ,ratting, bushing, but to come on here and expect people to come running cos some ones made a good offer is bullshit,i'm proud to own and work my Plummers no need to run up peoples arses to prove there capable of doing a bit digging,i;m no egotistic person but i will stand by the dogs i work,i don't hide what my dogs are worked too as ive posted enough .but this is just a f..king joke, but for the lads that have got something to prove to themselves crack on.but hey my dads bigger than yours :whistling: all the same i;m out of here ,atb keith,j.

Am no big terrier man but heres a few things that you are told, when your young or just starting out in the game.

Borders are slow starters, well could be true but my nephew got one now that I got of a friend of mine at seven/eight months nailed rats first day out never been out before.

Lakelands/Fell Pats are all hard and can be only took to hole let off and dug to, I have seen them work cover bush rabbits, rat and taken beating.

JRT have got no working instinct left in them, I started off with little what we called, Queen Ann JRT you know ones that are from no working lines just little short legged ones that uesd to run around the streets in any part of the UK and they work the full scale of things from mice voles in the corn fields to fox.

All Plummers are shite and that seems a broad statment, as all Plummers are not shite.

Diffrent Breeds and Breeding is important good lines should be kept and preserved (and worked), in all the above breeds. But If I see a good dog work be it a Running dog, terrier any breed size colour, Gundog or a sheepdog for that matter. Then I would say that Lakeland, Saluki x or lab worked well why not?

Long post but am trying to say in laymans word is could thier not be good bad and indiffrent in most if not all breeds.?

All best in what you choose to work

PUD

borders are slow starters at doing what theyre bred for, not ratting. Any terrier should be capable of taking rats and bushing. All breeds can do it, so there isnt really anything special about plummers other than the price of em

Am not saying Border are slow starters am saying thats what you get told, I know what Borders are bred for I seen some beltas work. The Border in question went to rats first time out as I said, and now has entered to fox I dont knock any dog if it works it works.

Same here i got permission for earth work in my own village  so unless your paying the petrol for my motor then feck driving to whiltshire,i drive a forester so it won't be cheap by the way :icon_eek: .A good offer by the man but to many monkey's sat in branches waiting to throw banana's imo and it wouldn't exactly prove feck all except one terrier could or could not be dug to,maybe before i learnt to not be arsed i would have taken up the offer to shush some folks up but these days.............................................................i really can't be arsed :victory: .

Good luck in getting a bite FD but i recon folks can see your hook mate :tongue2:
